Connections
Connections let you explore the astrological relationship between you and another person. Once connected, you share a synastry reading, a composite chart, relational daily cards, and a joint calendar.
Connection types
Connections are organised into three categories with per-tier slot limits:
| Type | Glyph | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Flame | ♡ | Romantic partners |
| Bond | ✦ | Close friends and family |
| Orbit | ◎ | Acquaintances and colleagues |
The slot summary at the top of the page shows how many slots you have used in each category.
Inviting someone
Go to Connections and click + New connection. Select a connection type, enter the person's email, and send the invite.

Once sent, the connection appears in your list as Invite sent — waiting for the other person to accept.
- Link invite (shared externally) — use Copy link to resend the same link, or ↻ to generate a fresh one.
- Direct request (sent to an existing Duocosm user) — they will see and accept it from their own Connections page; no link is needed.

Accepting an invite
Click Received an invite? at the top of the Connections page to expand the accept form. Paste the invite link or token someone shared with you, then click Accept invite.

Consent model
Duocosm uses a two-step mutual consent model. Both people must actively agree before any relational content is shared.
You send invite → invite pending
They accept → MUTUAL (full relational access)
Until both parties have confirmed:
- No synastry data is visible to either person
- No composite chart is computed
- No relational calendar events appear
This is intentional — Duocosm does not expose one person's astrological data to another without explicit consent.
Synastry
Once mutual, click View synastry on the connection card to open the synastry panel.

The panel shows:
- A bi-wheel with your natal chart (inner) and their natal chart (outer)
- A Resonance score (0–44) using the Ciro Discepolo method — evaluates key planet pairs (Sun–Sun, Sun–Moon, Sun–Ascendant, Moon–Ascendant, Venus–Mars) with tighter orbs scoring higher
- Key aspects — the strongest inter-chart connections, each expandable for a full interpretation
- Today's connection — which inter-aspects are being activated by current transits
- Connection memory — a 30-day log of daily relational activations (Full Moon+ tier)
Each aspect shows its type (conjunction, trine, square, etc.) and orb in degrees.
Resonance score ranges
| Score | Label | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 30–44 | Rare exceptional | An extraordinarily rare level of compatibility across all key pairs |
| 20–29 | Exceptional | Strong harmony across most key planet pairs |
| 15–19 | Very important | Significant connections with notable synergy |
| 10–14 | Important | Meaningful resonance in several key areas |
| 5–9 | Moderate | Some compatible points, typical of most connections |
| 0–4 | Minimal | Few strong contacts between key pairs |
Most real-world connections score between 5 and 20. A score above 30 is statistically very uncommon.
Composite chart
The composite chart is calculated from the midpoints of both natal charts. It represents the relationship as its own entity — a chart for the connection itself, not for either person individually. Composite planet positions are shown in the synastry panel below the aspect list.
Why do the houses look different from my natal chart? In your natal chart, the houses are determined by your birth time and location. In a composite chart, each house cusp is the midpoint of both people's corresponding cusps. This means the Ascendant, Midheaven, and all other house boundaries shift to positions unique to your relationship — which is why the house numbers appear in different places around the wheel.
Relational daily cards
On Full Moon and Eclipse tiers, connections unlock relational daily cards visible on your Daily page:
| Card type | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Connection point | A current transit activating an inter-aspect between your charts |
| Personal bridge | A natal inter-aspect being highlighted by a personal transit |
| Relational sky | A transit affecting the composite chart |
Daily Digest
Each mutual connection can be included or excluded from your Daily Digest — the morning summary that brings together your personal reading and your active connections into one view.
Defaults by connection type:
| Type | Included by default |
|---|---|
| Flame ♡ | Yes |
| Bond ✦ | Yes |
| Orbit ◎ | No |
Changing the setting:
- Open the connection's detail screen and toggle Include in daily digest, or
- Go to Settings → Daily Digest → Connections to manage all connections at once.
When a connection is included, the digest shows a preview card for it containing today's most significant relational activity. Tapping the card opens the full relational reading for that connection.
Removing a connection
Either person can remove a connection at any time from the Connections page. This immediately removes all shared relational content for both parties.
